When It Is Time to Upgrade Your Bench Upgrade with Wheeler

There is no substitute for accuracy, especially when taking your once-in-a-lifetime shot. Having a correctly mounted scope is the first step in achieving that accuracy. While often over looked, lapping your rings can be an important step in improving accuracy. Lapping the rings provides for precise alignment of your optic while increasing contact between the optic and the rings. This minimizes movement of the optic which enhances accuracy. Most rings have machining marks on the interior surfaces which can cause damage to the finish of your scope. Lapping can remove these machining marks from the rings, protecting your scope. The lapping alignment bars can help you identify serious alignment issues before attempting to mount your scope. Misaligned rings can put uneven pressure on your scope or allow movement within the rings. A little preparation can keep the shot of a lifetime from becoming the miss of a lifetime.
