Community Engagement Manager

Cheaper Than Dirt is looking for an enthusiastic Community Engagement Manager who will fuel customer interaction and advocacy in all online spaces.

The community engagement manager will grow Cheaper Than Dirt’s social media followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, customers, and active fans and promoters of our company.

Our ideal candidate has exceptional written and oral communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a “people person” with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.

Passion for firearms, AR builds, and spending weekends at the range are big pluses for this role.

You should have command of best practices and trends in social media and content marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

• Build and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and potentially additional channels
• Create timely and engaging shareable content appropriate for specific networks to both spread our brand and our content and links.
• Develop a weekly image/asset request list for social marketing purposes
• Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our company, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing customers and leads and from brand new audiences that don’t yet know us.
• Moderate comments company-sponsored social platforms, and as needed on the company blog.

SEO Content Writer

Cheaper Than Dirt is seeking a Content Writer with SEO expertise. The ideal candidate will be able to write compelling product marketing copy to engage with our audience and aid in making purchase decisions and taking what can be highly technical details and translating them into meaningful information for the lay person. Knowledge of firearms, survival, and outdoor recreation a plus, but a willingness to research and learn to provide the most accurate information for our customers is paramount.

The Content Writer will produce content for use on in a variety of areas including product descriptions, marketing display copy, landing pages, infographics, and knowledge-base articles (e.g. tips and tricks). Keyword usage data, keyword banks, and related SEO research will be regular components of the copywriting in this role, in addition to standard grammar rules and adoption of brand voice.

Strong organizational and self-editing skills are vital to success in this role. The SEO Content Writer role will work with our SEO team and report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
