Best Ammo to use in Lower Michigan Deer Season
Hunting in lower Michigan during regular season a 100-150 was longest you would attempt with a rifled slug. We passed up many large bucks in the distance over the years. The combination of Ken Johnston's "Game Breaker" .450 Buchmaster and this Honady round, I was able to drop a nice buck at 221 yards. At the range before the season shooting at 100 yards I placed 2 shots in the same hole 1 inch above center bull. I knew I could take a 200-250 shot with confidence.This is the best ammo to use in lower Michigan regular gun season.

I recently purchased a Bushmaster .450. I've put about 50 rounds through it (at this price, I'm trying to make it last). Every one has fired without a problem and they shoot straight. This kicks like hell. If you're thinking of getting a .450, you need to get a good mount for your optic.

I shot a 164 pound boar y
I shot a 164 pound boar yesterday with this ammo. The round hit precisely where I aimed it from about 70 yards away: the middle of the neck. That hog didn't have time to budge from the spot, but went down right where he stood. No squealing, no running, no blood trail to follow. He bled out right there. I found the jacket and lead in separate pieces buried inside the shield of the opposite side, so the round was unable to penetrate through the second layer of a very thick shield. But it is a pig-killer for sure.

Not a large range gun or ammo, but at intermediate ranges, it's deadly. Otherwise, I'd rate it a full 5. But at 100 yards, I can cloverleaf 3 or 4 rounds. And I dropped a large buck last season at about 100 yards, he fell right where he stood. So this round packs a wallop. This ammo isn't around long, so if you have a Bushmaster .450, you better pick it up when it is!!

If you have one of these uppers, then you already know. This bullet is capable of same-holing at 100yds! If you do your part, this bullet will bring the hammer down exactly where it is aimed! Guys on the range ask what I am shooting when they hear the 200yd dong being slapped by a freight train in semi-auto fashion.This is a true joy to shoot. My new favorite upper and caliber. This bullet by Hornady has got it all.
