There is more than one variant of the M&P 15. If your model is chambered in 223Rem/5.56NATO, threaded 1/2x28, and has 5.75" of unobstructed barrel, then this will fit.

In have a (.223/5.56) PSA 16" Classic carbine build with the handguard replaced to a Magpul MOE M-Lok handguard.
