Copper isn’t a cheap metal. Brass is mostly copper. Put it all together, and what does it mean? It means brass ammunition components aren’t the cheapest.
The brains behind Wolf know all of this. They want their ammo to cost the least. So what did they do? Load this .223 Rem ammo with as many steel components as possible, and pass the savings on to you.
This round’s case is made entirely out of steel. That makes post-shoot cleanup easier if you have a big magnet. It also makes this ammo non-reloadable, and not as clean-shooting as the conventional brass-cased stuff.
This ammo’s cases aren’t its only component that attracts a magnet. Its lead-core bullets have steel jackets, too: soft enough to pass through a barrel without damaging its rifling, but of no use at a range that forbids bullets containing steel.
This round’s bullet is a big 75 grain lunker. That’s the hallmark of a long-range projectile, as the extra mass grants the bullet greater resistance to wind deflection. Its hollow point design doesn’t suit it for hunting anything larger than predators or varmints, though, so keep that in mind before you go and start making plans.
