The bullet’s lustrous finish isn’t silver. That’s nickel-plating, which (A) looks nice, (B) protects the brass jacket against corrosion, and (C) helps the bullet create less friction as it slips inside a lever action. The plating does not contribute to the bullet’s terminal performance. It doesn’t have to, because the jacketed hollow point’s robust exterior and optimized nose cavity supply all the penetration and expansion needed to neutralize the threat.
