You’re on a mission. Lucky for you, it’s a fun mission: get as good as you’re humanly able at shooting close-range clays.

You’re not alone on this mission. Thanks to Winchester, you can now have factory-loaded 12 Gauge ammunition that’s specifically designed for your goal.

The magic is all in the wad. Rightly dubbed the “Super Spreader,” it features a shot cup that unzips evenly down both sides the instant it clears muzzle. In the center of the shot cup extends a one-of-a-kind X-shaped column, which does even more to release a wide yet uniform shot column.

The result? A 70% wider pattern at 20 yards over what Winchester’s regular AA wad could throw.

This shell’s #8 lead shot is suitable for all target shooting applications, although its wide pattern at close range does come with the natural tradeoff of poorer longer-range performance.
