I would recommend
Good shell for Deer Hunting. Always hear about the 00 Buck, but little about the #1 buck. More pellets, with good penetration for deer hunting.

This is my first choice i
This is my first choice in a 12ga defense load. More pellets in #1 Buck hit harder than 00 but still have adequate penetration. This is a full power load so you will deal with some recoil but you probably won't have to shoot something twice if you hit it the first time.

Well it's been a year sin
Well it's been a year since ole12ga's review and maybe Winchester read it. Because my ammo was in fine condition as expected. I hate the outrageous shipping price on ammo but that's universal so I won't hold it against Win or CTD.

Product came in as expect
Product came in as expected. I looked all over locally for this #1 Buck but could not find it. CTD had the best online price.

I only gave this item 1 b
I only gave this item 1 bullet so I could be sure to attract your attention to a possible problem. I have standardized on this load for close in up to 20 yds. I had not gotten as many rounds as I wanted before I saw that Winchester had supposedly stopped manufacturing this load. It 'looks' like they may have done so and then decided to run some more off to take advantage of demand. It seems like the line that they run these loads off on must have been shut down and then reactivated after a period of time before a rush to run a bunch more off and was not up to standard. I say this because the 5 round boxes I rec'd had a good deal of loose plastic granules in them that had apparently leaked out of the crimp. One round was miss-crimped so that the nose was open and spilling its plastic buffer granules. Another round and the star crimp crushed, twisted out of round with a leaf of the crimp sticking out at an extreme angle and would certainly have caused a miss feed if one have even been able to load it in-lets say-the dark. Have a look at these before you just store them away figuring you can trust them like you usually can.
