Quality Product
Got this for my Ruger SR1911. Good craftsmanship and fit well. The problem is that my 10 round extended mags would not go in all the way. Regular 7 round mags worked great

Fit perfectly on my Regen
Fit perfectly on my Regent 1911A1. Looks good and well constructed. Magazine changes are a lot easier now. You will need some sort of base/slam pads on your magazines if you install this. Great Product!!

Don't think you wont have to fit it to your gun..I have a Kimber custom and it wouldn't fit properly as they advertise. Ended up going to a gunsmith to put on a Smith and Alexander

1st, if you have a Springfield armory 1911 A-1 GI model, the lanyard loop at the bottom of the mainspring housing must be removed to install the magwell. AItfter that, installation is a breeze. It fits really snug on the frame. as previous reviewers have said, and the seven rnd mags work easier with the bumper pads installed on them. Looks great on the weapon too so not bad for the price at all

I installed on my 1911 and found that I would actually hit the bevelled edge and catch the mag on it. It actually slowed magazine changes. If you have standard mags without a bumper, you may want to invest in some. Once you have all this, practice to get used to it, or simply stick with your standard well.

This may be a fine addition to a gun that it fits on, but it does not fit on my Metro Arms American Standard II Deluxe. should have gone with the speed chute from the start.

I found that it fits 1991
I found that it fits 1991a1 colt as well as a 1911 i built my self with out having to be fitted. I do recommend that with a 7 shot mag to add rubber pads to them. It helps locking the mag in place. Also if your gun is not on the list of what the part fits you take the risk when ordering it.

This is a very simple pie
This is a very simple piece and should work fine on most 1911s. The blue finish is pretty good. It's everything I expect from Wilson Combat. However, this will not fit my Taurus PT1911. The grip frame is too wide. The only way this could reasonably fit my gun is if I cut the tabs off and JB-Weld the well to my mainspring housing. For other PT1911 owners, I suggest your spend the extra $60 on a proper Speed Chute.

I should add that the clearance between the tabs are 0.7540' (19.15mm). So measure the width of your frame before buying. And I meant to give this 4 bullets the first time. It's a nice part, but it just didn't fit.

This mag well was easy to install and looks great. Took less than 2 minutes to remove the grips, install/hook over the screw wells. It fits tightly on my Stainless S&W 1911, but I'm pleased with the finish of the product. I slapped in a standard officer 7 round mag, an 8 round combat mag from the manufacturer, and a 10 round Chip McC match grade mag just to make sure they all slide correctly. All systems go. I doubt it will make a massive issue on most of my range shooting, but for speed drills - can't hurt.

For the price you cant beat the deal/fit/function of this part! Why pay $80 for the whole mainspring housing and mag well when you can just add a mag well for much less!Installation was a snap! I used a dremel and a small grinder bit and it only took about 10 minutes to remove the material from the back of my G10 grips to make this fit perfect! As for looks...people at the range always inquire about it and don't believe how inexpensive it was considering how good it looks! I have since installed four of these in my other friends 1911's and they love them as much as I do!
