It got the job done. The
It got the job done. The alignment pins are handing not only to check if you need to lap your scope rings, but also if you have mount options you can flip your rings around to different positions before lapping to see if you can get them closer to being aligned. The torque wrench seems high quality, they even check the calibration by hand before it goes out, and they include the calibration notes. The black finish on the lap bar did get worn off where it lapped the rings, but I checked the dia. with calipers after lapping and it was within 1/1000th all the way down, so it looks like lapping did not wear the bar down. Hopefully that indicates that the bar is good for a LOT of jobs.My only suggestion for improvement to Weaver would be a longer lap bar. On rings that need a lot of lapping, it takes a long time to get them there with the short stroke of the bar. (My action is a Rem 700, so pretty darn common).Don't pay a gunshop to mount your scope for you, odds are they will NOT lap it, resulting in odd pressures being applied to your scope. Cheers.
