This round’s 124 grain full metal jacket is three important things:
• Nonexpanding, and therefore not advised for everyday carry (when the risk of over-penetration must be minimized)
• Nonmagnetic, and well received at gun ranges that ban bullets containing ferromagnetic metals
• Simple – just a lead core with a sturdy copper jacket, which is absolutely all you need for any kind of target work
The FMJ’s 1,100 fps muzzle velocity (4” test barrel) is typical of standard-pressure ammunition, indicative of 136 power factor (also normal), and subsonic (albeit by only 25 fps, which means consistent subsonic muzzle velocity is not assured).
Veteran Ammo didn’t make this ammo’s brass cases. Another domestic manufacturer did, but you can rest assured they are brand new and very much reloadable.
