Bought this Hawken .50 la
Bought this Hawken .50 last year, it's a beauty, very accurate and powerful, load with 85gr of Pyrodex R/S, with Speer .490 balls and Traditions pre-lubed .50cal patch, works great, as with all Black powder gun, Clean very well with very hot soapy water and non-petroleum bore cleaner after the day of shooting, this is a great buy and an excellent gun.

I bought this Traditions
I bought this Traditions Hawken Woodsman .50 cal about 8 months ago, already put about 50 rounds through it, this thing is very accurate, 1-1/2' grouping at 100 yrds using 85 grains of Pyrodex RS, works well with Pyrodex P also about 75 grains with 'P', great looking gun, the factory does a very nice job, uses #11 percussion caps, CCI or Winchester work the best, Remington caps work good too, Hornaday or Speer .490 round balls work well with Traditions .50/.54 pre lubed patches, this is a great deal for this gun, highly recommended.

I shopped for a while bef
I shopped for a while before deciding on this rifle. The T/C does have a slightly better finish, but it is more than double the price. I ordered it on Thursday and it delivered on Friday. Saturday I hit the range. This was my first foray into black powder, and I have to warn you that it is very addictive. The gun shoots very accurately- much better than I expected, and everything is nice and tight on the gun. The barrels fits snug with no wiggle and the trigger is crisp. It has the dual trigger system - which I am new to is great. This gun far surpasses all my expectations. I received several compliments on the gun at the range which doesn't hurt. Don't worry about buying this gun. You won't be disappointed.

I have a 54 cal. Black powder rifle 28 inch barrel the back Tang that holds the barrel to the stock cracked above the two screw holes is there a replacement that I can buy for this or can it be welded
Answer: You may be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer, or have a competent gunsmith repair it.
Must I use a round ball only or can I use powder pellets with copper sabots
Answer: The manual says "Preformed Pyrodex Pellets generally work best in in-line rifles and were not designed for guns with side-lock ignition. The use of preformed powder such as pellets or sticks is NOT recommended"
