WellWhen i got this, i assumed it was MANUFACTURED by Traditions firearms out of spain. imagine my surprise when i got it and it read Traditions firearms on the box but it had an italian Pietta inside. I guess I got a good one because i have seen alot of really bad pietta's. This one turned out to be very well made. Ill admit my adrenalin got pumping when i read the barrel but when i tested it (I am a gunsmith) It turned out to not exhibit the poor craftsmanship pietta has had in the past. Especially the timing on the cylinder. all in all a good buy AND VERY WELL BALANCED.

Dear Sirs:I do have two 1
Dear Sirs:I do have two 1851 revolver black powder .Very happy to be a black powder owner gun .I took them to the local range here in South Florida and shot them .First thing you need to do is get the pin or wedege out in this guns .Using a 3/16' pin punch and a real hammer push out the wedge then take the gun apart in three section .Now you are free to load the cylinder .Do not forget to add grease over the lead ball to seal the chamber and avoid multiple chamber fire at one time .After you fire the gun a black powder smoke together with frames will comes out from the barrel at each chamber is been fired .I did use 451 lead ball but 454 is the same to fit tight .The power of the 44 caliber is 750 FPS muzzle velocity and 160 foot pounds muzzle energy this is to compare with a 158 grain in a .38 Special revolver .Both has the same punch after hit the target. In resume very happy with my antiques gun and the best thing about them are that I am allow to carry them conceal without any permit in this Florida state .Thanks.

I bought the starter kit
I bought the starter kit from a local gun store in Sacramento CA and for $300.00 total I got a pound of powder,118 lead balls, powder flask, powder measuring tool, cleaning kit, cleaning solvent,100 caps and some grease to put over the loaded cylinder!I was told it is OK for a starter, and that I should look at the $300.00 Uberti when I 'really get into black powder'. Any way I was impressed with the overall fit and finish! Very pretty gun.I think the brass frame makes the $150.00 difference vs the Uberti. I will write a range report on it soon. I bought #10 and #11 percussion caps...10s fit perfect...11s need to be pinched to stay on all the way. I gave it a 5 rating based on quality...since I havent fired it yet...more to come.

Well, when it first arriv
Well, when it first arrived, it was in a bow which read traditional firearms and upon opening the box, i was greeted with a gun in a well cut styrofoam package wrapped in a bag of oil. The gun is very grease and needs to be wiped down when first handled. This gun requires #11 percussion caps as #10's are too small and will not fit the nipple. The loading mechanism consist of a loading lever and your hands. It is easy to disassemble but it is a very hard to get the pin out as it has a clip which locks it in and it is very tightly fixed.
