Tolerance
Magazine looked nice, but did not engage without some tweaking. The tooling tolerance seems to be A bit relaxed. Had to file down some on the stop and squeeze the magazine I a couple areas that were wider than the rifles’ magazine interface. Will have to take it to the range now for a proper warm up.

Would not work at all in my Chinese or my Yugo SKS. Magazine catches broke off after I finally got them to half way fit. Horrible spot weld job on these Mags. Stick to tapco and promag. They work flawlessly.

Troublesome but works.
Needed minimal fitment for my Norinco. Major major issue for me was it did not engage the bolt hold open when empty. I wanted to use stripper clips, which was a big part of why I got this over a Tapco mag. My fix was to beef up the hold open tab by drilling next to it and putting in a screw, which I then grinded down so the follower could slide through the magazine snag free. I spent all day trying different ideas to get it to work. This design flaw really irks me since there is no reason for it. The hold open tab is just a little bump. There is enough side to side play inside the mag for the bolt hold open tab to miss the hold open bolt entirely. It needs to be wider. Pros: Takes Stripper clips. Classic steel look. Cons: Bolt hold open badly designed.

Purchased a russian sks a week ago noticed it had a 5 round detachable magazine. Purchased the jmaz 30 round magazine and when straight to the range put 500 rounds threw the gun using this magazine with no issues at all which i was surprised.

Just ordered 4 of these magazines for my beloved SKS of 12 years... haven't had a chance to field test them but upon loading to test fit and function? 1: they allow for overloading,supposed to be 30 rounds and fit 36-38. 2: of the 2 I loaded and stopped at 30 1 functioned as it should. The other would hold rounds until you drop the bolt on the rifle. At which point 1 ended up where it was supposed to and the rest went to the floor. Not impressed with these mags at all!

After reading the positive reviews, I decided to gamble and try one of these. It feels like a good mag, but it ends there. This thing would not lock into place without filing to the rear of the mag, near the bolt hold open. The follower is total garbage, and tilts like crazy. The inside of the mag is very rough, which makes the rounds hang up at times, and randomly fail to feed. The guys giving this a positive review must not shoot much, because this is garbage. Don't waste your money.

This magazine fits my Chinese SKS and feds ammo with no modifications. Looks better than the ProMag Polymer one. But the spring is on the soft side.

This magazine went right into the stock of my Chinese type 56, no modifications necessary to either mag or stock. 35 rounds without any jams, feeds nicely and the bolt stays open after the mag's been emptied. The mag is painted.

I ordered 3 of these since the reviews were positive, took them out and went thru 60 rounds in each mag, not a single problem, bolt has to be open in order to insert them, if you put them in right they function perfectly, i had no malfunctions after 180 rounds, super impressed

Worked well. It says it's blued, but it's actually painted, had to file down the paint on various areas to get it to fit, had to trim down the plastic carrier a bit as well but now it works great. Mine holds 35 full metal jacket rounds.

I ordered this magazine with a Promag 30 round magazine to try them out. The follower of this magazine needs A LOT of work. The spring almost feels like it has no power to push up the last shot hold open. It also tips way too easily. I am going with the Promag for my magazines.

Purchased mag. for a Chin
Purchased mag. for a Chinese Norinco SKS. Very minimal filing on mag for a perfect fit and function. You have to file housing down to make it fit, just be sure to take the spring and follower out so you don't damage them. This mag. fits into an ORIGINAL stock in the place of the stationary 10 rd. mag. Enjoy.

This Magazine IS The One for your SKS. Don't bother with poly mags, nor 'poly' women, both are unfaithful to what you want; reliable loading. I had to greatly shave the poly mags I bought, as I asked my 'poly' woman to shave as well. Both I still couldn't trust. We men want/need to trust what we're working with. Steel mags/REAL women.

Haven't had a chance to hit the range yet but as far as the fit and finish, this thing is perfect. Fits my Norinco SKS like it was made for it. No modification to either the gun nor the mag. Perfect fit!!! The dry run with it seems to be fine. Shells feed with no problem. I am loading it with stripper mags for now but will get a easy loader some time. That is the only pain with a high cap mag. Great job guys and a good price.

This Magazine is very poorly welded. I bought 2 of these at first thinking they would be better than the Poly Mags. The first one broke the first time I used it. Contacted CTD they replaced it at no cost to me. Now as of last week I'm down to one again, as the same thing happened. They are breaking the wields loose at the back of the mag where it is held in the gun. It only has spot wields at that location. Its not a good quality mag. From now on I will buy the poly mags.

This magazine is identical to the 'U.S.A. Magazine' that my Russian SKS came with, that's no longer made. I've tried the polymer mags, but I just don't like having to fit/file them. For just 5 bucks more I can have a metal mag that loads up, and fits right in. I will be buying a lot more. Thanks CTD for being here.

I have tried several brands and composites and the steel mags are by far second to none over the polymar. I ordered 3 of these mags and with some minor filing on the ears they fit and cycle just fine with my Tapco stock. I also found that using 28 rounds until the mag gets broken in works best. I will definitely order more! Can't beat the price either!

These mags wouldn't load
These mags wouldn't load more than 10 rounds, even with significant effort. Nor will these mags cycle rounds through my rifle. Tried to return them to CTD, was never reimbursed although tracking showed they received them back.

I ordered three of these. Got them home and tried like hell to load them up. The paint on the inside of the magazine seems to get the stripper clip stuck, and then you have to smack it to get it loose or the rounds just start falling out of the magazine. Ordered a different mag (6-1024514) and it worked like a dream. No hangups at all. Guess that's the difference between blued steel and painted.

I have been looking for a USA MAG for my SKS for a while. They are the best 30 rd mags you can get for an SKS, but they stopped making them years ago, so it's near impossible to find one. I ordered a Tapco 20 rd mag and had issues with it, but Tapco's customer service is awesome and they sent me one that works great. Now for this mag: the main issue I'm having is no matter how many rounds I have in it when I put it in the gun, one or two rounds come out of the mag and lie in the chamber, so I have to clear it before I get shooting. If you're using it as a fixed mag, then this issue won't be a problem. I wouldn't buy it, but if you're getting stuff on here anyway, they are definitely worth picking one or two up in case we get a new 'assault weapons' ban and you're going to pay triple what they are now. It is VERY well made and sturdy, just like a good AK-47 mag. Can't say that about Tapco mags. I also hear the new ProMag 30 rd mags are pretty good.

I would recommend these mags to anyone. They are built like a tank and operate great. I also received my order very fast. This is a great store, which will definitely get a lot more of my business.

Wow, I got these in only
Wow, I got these in only three days after I ordered them, and my estimated shipping time was over a week. I ordered two of these. They seem to be of identical quality, which tells me that the manufacturing is consistent. The finish is good. It looks to be a semi-glossy, black paint, but seems very durable. The mags are heavy, solid steel. They look very much like an AK mag, but stick out a little further from the SKS than an AK mag would. Still, they look awesome. Fit perfectly into the Tapco stock with absolutely zero wobble. Only disappointment is that they do not have an anti-tilt follower, but that is easily replaceable with a Tapco follower if it becomes a problem. They feed 99%, but I expect even better reliability once they're broken in with a few hundred rounds each. Not quite as smoothly-operating as the Tapco mags, but still very good. Bottom line: I recommend that you buy these if you are looking for a 30 round magazine for your SKS.

A great magazine. It fits into my 2nd Gen Chinese SKS fine and the bolt cycles well. I put some camo roll tape on the bottom of the mag for grip, as they are slippery from the paint. A quality product. Makes the SKS what it's supposed to be.

Finally found steel SKS mags. Thank you, CTD! My Chinese SKS loves the steel mags and this one is great. I plan on buying more. DO NOT BUY ProMag plastic mags for the SKS. They suck, they break, and if you want them to work you have to file them down and still you might have a FTE.

Works great with my Chinese SKS. I have two other similar mags from different manufacturers, and had to rework them a bit. Just a little bending and grinding. My Norinco can be picky. This Target Sports mag was perfect out of box. Roughly 300 rounds through it and no jams.

The magazine was a real tight fit, but 1 minute with a metal file totally solved that. It feeds great, no failures, and looks awesome!
