The TacStar original SideSaddle shotshell ammunition carrier allows you to easily mount additional ammunition directly to the side of your shotguns receiver. This convenient location allows you quick access to additional shells since carrying additional shotshells can sometimes be cumbersome. The backing plate is made from aircraft grade aluminum and the polymer shell holders are virtually indestructible. The mounting of the side saddle is easy and does not require the use of a gunsmith.

I bought this shotshell carrier with hopes that it would fit my Grandfather's old Model 1400 Winchester. It fits like a charm. Now with the new pistol grip synthetic forearm, I have another riot shotgun that I can easily convert back to a regular hunting shotgun. With tensions as they are around the world, it's nice to have the addition to my defensive weapons. So if you have a Model 1400, realize it will work fine. Thanks Cheaper Than Dirt; another home run.

These are on all of my pump guns. They are the best on the market for keeping 6 extra rounds at hand. Your extras are held where they need to be, not on the back of your stock or some other out of the way inconvenient spot. I've tried other brands of this type of shell carrier that were cheaper, but they all cracked sooner or later. Tac Star makes quality products. I bought my first one of these back in the 90's,(when they were $10 cheaper), and it's still in service. It's advisable to use loc-tite 242 on the little screws that hold the carrier to the mounting plate to withstand years of 12 gauge pounding. That said, if you know how to push out your trigger group retaining pin, you can install this in a snap. If you have a long forend that overlaps your receiver, you will need to replace it with a shorter/tactical forend. I always load the side saddle brass down in the carrier for faster reloading. You will not be disappointed with this product.

I got this for my home defender and it works really great. The only problem I had was I had to grind one small part on the bottom cause the bolt replacing pin wouldn't line up to the main hole. That is what hold's the saddle.
