I got the '8' shot mode
I got the '8' shot model, that means 7+1 :). It works great, my rounds and follower move easily. It screws on tight, but I wish it came with a barrel clamp. I had to grind down the indents inside the mag tube with a dremmel tool, but otherwise all good.

WOW! First, I would like
WOW! First, I would like to commend CTD for their customer service. 5 bullets!!! I ordered the TacStar extension on Monday and received it on Tuesday. It went on with ease. I also installed a TacStar shotshell holder. Once again, the customer service is outstanding.

I bought this to use for
I bought this to use for skeet shooting and it works great! Yes you have to remove the dimples from the factory mag tube which takes a little patience. My dremel is broken and I got impatient and used a chainsaw file. Not the easiest way. However once that was finished it installed with no problems. Took it shooting and had a really good time having eight shots instead of five. A quality product at a reasonable price.

I got this about 1 1/2 weeks ago and after I filed out the two dimples on my 870 and installed my 20' barrel my 870 looks cool. I also performed a function test for this after installing. One standard aimed function test and one rapid fire function test. It worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this.

This extension tube is great, all metal and no problem to install. The only issue I have is that I have to remove the dimples from inside the magazine tube on my shotgun so the follower will go into the extension tube. I highly recomend this product.

How long is the extinction? Is it longer then then 8 1/4 inches long?
Answer: The manufacture does not state the exact size.
Are there any pictures/diagrams showing the "dimples" that need to be removed in order to install this extension? Does removing the "dimples" harm the shotgun in any way? Is it still possible to remove the extension and use the original factory spring/cap without a problem? Or does removing the "dimples" mean you have to use a magazine extension forever after?
Answer: There are quite a few YouTube videos of the Remington 870 magazine dimple removal. The dimples are just there to hold the original magazine spring retainer in when the cap is removed. They Must be removed so the shells and follower can travel past them. You can use the shotgun in the original capacity with no dimples.
I purchased the 5 round extension and it's too long for my barrel. Can I return it and exchange it for a 3 round extension?
Answer: Yes you can. Please contact customer service for an RMA.
