Do it lower the sound?
Answer:
Hello! This device is designed to direct sound away from the shooter. It doesn't technically soften the sound. What it does is direct the sound downrange instead of in outward directions around the muzzle. It's like ... imagine you have a hose that sprays in every direction. You screw a nozzle to its tip, and that nozzle makes the hose focus its water in a straight toward whatever it's pointed at. Now, instead of a hose, imagine you're holding your gun, and the nozzle is this linear compensator. Hope that makes sense!
