Excellent Quality Option!
Got it. Love it, but there's things to know. The black is Type III anodizing, which resists wear better than the Type II colors. It's carbine length, so there are more tuning options for different calibers. The thread length is a little longer than a standard mil-spec tube, so if a QD or other end-plate is intended, you won't have to struggle getting it on. The 'lock' tab internally makes staking and Loc-Tite unnecessary as well, but you will need a pick or awl to depress the buffer stop while rotating it into place. It 'seems' to be a better interior finish and that may aid to reduce a little noise. BTW, if you plan on a .300 build, this is the Strike option to choose over the shorty 'kit'. Now the hidden: It's marked on top for adjustable end-stock settings and has KAK style indents underneath. These features AREN'T pictured anywhere in the marketing, nor are they mentioned! Important when you are negotiating an SBR vs. pistol configuration, so stay informed on ATF/NFA rules.
