STEEL. It’s made of iron, which, as you’re probably already well aware, is in far more plenteous supply than the copper which is required to make brass. In other words, steel is the main reason why Sterling’s Turkish-made “Steel” label 9mm range ammo goes so gentle on the old credit card.

These cartridges’ steel cases are easy to clean up off the ground. Just get yourself a magnet on a stick, and voila. That’s where steel cases benefits’ end, though. And you’ve got to take the good with the bad: non-reloadability, and noticeably more carbon residue inside the action once target practice has ended.

Its cases aren’t the reason why this ammo is considered “magnetic.” Its 115 grain FMJ bullets’ jackets are also made of the metal, and accordingly unwelcome at more than a couple of commercial shooting establishments.

Sterling has never loaded a corrosive primer. They also don’t load overpressure 9mm. This ammo’s 34,085 psi max chamber pressure is below SAAMI’s 35,000 psi standard pressure requirement. It’s good to go in whichever pistol can chamber it.
