Unlike traditional large hollow-point cavities, Gold Dot G2 is designed with a shallow dish that is filled with elastomer (polymer). The elastomer material is forced into engineered internal fissures to start the expansion process on impact. This unique design results in extremely uniform expansion, improved separation of the petals, and more consistent penetration across barrier types through full-size handguns; all of which are highly sought after for the ideal duty/self defense ammunition.
