Your life is worth defending with nothing less than police-grade ammunition. If that’s a statement you can get behind, then Speer LE Gold Dot Duty Rifle 223 Rem ammo will win your total approval.

This cartridge is loaded with Speer’s proprietary Gold Dot soft point. It is a bonded bullet, with an electrochemically fused lead core and copper jacket. The Gold Dot’s unique construction makes it abnormally durable: the reason why it retains 100 percent of its 55 grain weight after having penetrated heavy clothing and come to a rest within ballistic gelatin. Even penetration of plywood removes only about one-quarter of the Gold Dot’s weight.

The Gold Dot’s reliably deep penetration takes place at the same time as wide expansion. Under optimal conditions, the bullet will more than double in diameter before coming to a halt inside the threat.

Speer Gold Dot ammo is loaded in Idaho with CCI’s best rifle primers, as well as nickel-plated brass cases which are just as smooth cycling as they are reloadable. (Muzzle velocity taken with 24” test barrel.)
