This is not .45 ACP ammunition. It will not work in a .45 ACP firearm.

Speer co-developed the .45 GAP alongside the “G” the round is named after. It only makes sense that Speer should remain one of the few companies that still loads it. That means you’re in luck if you prefer the .45 ACP’s shorter-but-equally-powerful younger brother for personal protection. We’ve got Speer’s best in stock!

This cartridge is loaded with a 200 grain bullet: the most common weight for the .45 GAP, which attains 950 fps muzzle velocity in conjunction with a 4” test barrel (G37 barrel length is 4.49”). Muzzle velocity out of a 5” barrel is 970 fps, in which case bullet drop 25 yards downrange of a 25-yard zero is approximately -1.6” (0.138 G1 BC).

This round features Speer’s own Gold Dot jacketed hollow point: the original bonded handgun bullet. The JHP exhibits perfect (or close to it) weight retention following penetration through a variety of urban barriers, and reliably undergoes wide positive expansion while it’s at it. The Gold Dot is regarded as the best defensive handgun bullet by many.

Loaded in Idaho with reflective, smooth-cycling and corrosion-resistant brass cases (reloadable).
