When looking for new duty
When looking for new duty ammo I spoke with a Medical Examiner, a Firearms Examiner, and a Firearms Instructor. The answer was unanimous, nothing penetrates, expands and retains its weight like the Gold Dot.

I just purchased these Speer 180 grain Gold Dot hollow points(#23962) for my .40 S&W pistol. They look NOTHING like my older 155 grain Gold Dot hollow points from Speer! These new ones have dull cases, with tool markings on most all of them?! What gives here? Also, I paid $14 for 50 rounds of the 155 grain bullets only four years ago, and these new ones cost $27 for only 20 of them. I have loved Speer ammo for years, but now I have lost my faith with them. I mean for 'factory NEW' ammo, this stuff looks like factory reloads. There's no way these casings are new.... guess lesson learned is to always buy ammo in person so you can physically see what you are getting. But hey, CheaperThanDirt still had the lowest price on the internet.... so if you want to try out these Speer 180's, you know where to get them.

Speer Golds are some of t
Speer Golds are some of the very best pistol and revolver rounds you can get. These rounds are clean-firing. They are accurate. They penetrate and go deeper into stuff that others (i.e. Federal Hydrosok's). I have used them for years. I've compared them to Federals, Winchesters, Remingtons, Hornadys, and others. These are absolutely in the top 2 or 3 bullet choices. Buy them while you can!

as this is some of the mo
as this is some of the most expensive ammo i've bought it's also issued to my dads police department with 3,000 + officers i've fired hydra shok and golden saber wich both have good performance but speer takes the cake both un bonded and bonded (i prefer bonded) shooting these along next to some black talons speer is equal in balistic performance if not better 0 fouling or jamming clean up is easily done in less than minutes after every time i shoot through both Sig P229R and Sig 239 .40S&W i trust this ammo with my life for i know even though rule of thumb is always double tap center mass 1 shot of speer and the suspect is going down and not getting back up so i give 5 out of 5!!!!!!
