Better than the previous design
I picked up one of these units (actually the 5x variant) and I must say everything about it is better than the original slide-to-side version. The main reason for its superiority is the fact that its much more streamlined. With this version, I was able to keep my rear magpul buis attached to the rail. The flip-to-side mount is actually flips to the side, as opposed to the last one which had to be slid and then pivoted. The quick release looks to be upgraded as well. Now, to the optic itself. Just like the last one the eye relief sucks, but that seems to be standard among most independent magnifiers. It is adjustable to get your reticle right into the center of the glass without having to mess with your primary optic. There is none of the rubber armor stuff like the previous version, but if you're not going to go into a battle field situation then you really don't need it. Overall, a great improvement over its predecessor. Pros: Expands the effective use of a holo/red dot. Cons: Weak eye relief

Will this pair with viridian rfx 45?
Answer:
It should.
Will it match up behind the romeo5x/xdr?
Answer:
If you have your Romeo 5 on the absolute co-witness mount (it typically comes with 2 mounts), then yes this will line up with your optic.
