Stupid question time! Is the .300BLK horse shoe reticle, just another type of dot? Or, is the scope itself, only intended for .300BLK rounds??

It's calibrated for the .300 Blackout round.

Approximately 2.5-3" depending on diopter adjustment.
I see no lens covers, but i see thread in the end - is there thread in lens covers available for these scopes?

Sig does not make any lens covers for this optic. The threading is most likely for an anti-reflective device, however, Sig does not have one listed for sale on their website for this model.
Is the center reticle also black to still be seen without the illumination being activated?
Answer:
The center reticle is red at all times even when not illuminated.
Will this work with hard sights also.?
Answer:
No this item will not co-witness with iron sights.
