Reliable and Satisfactory
The Savage A 22 WMR magazines work fine for my use in a house-defense rifle. With a bit of practice, rounds can be loaded into the magazine without much trouble. Since the magazines will only be loaded for practice on the range, there is no critical need for rapid loading. And for a "combat" situation, the magazines should already be loaded. I gave four out of five stars, only because loading the magazines takes a bit of practice. I think a bit of design modification by the Savage company could improve the loading process. I was pleased that the replacement magazines worked every bit as well as the original magazine that came with the rifle.

I would not buy this again!
I finally got the mag loaded using a knife to advance the wheel but then after putting the mag SECURELY in place it would not load properly. It would bend the bulletts.

Have five of them
The only drawback with the Savage design is the magazine must be seated with the bolt locked open. This way, they go in easily and "snap/click" securely. When done this way, they work great. I only wish someone made the high capacity version for the A22. Butler creek makes one for the A17. It is only a matter of opening the feed lips slightly.
