In 1985, Texan Jack Carter put his vast experience as a hunter of the world’s big game into the develop-mentof a new premium hunting bullet. The resulting bullet, the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, combines all the attributes necessary for quick and humane kills through a wide range of conditions and cartridges. Every Trophy Bonded Bear Claw starts as a solid bar of gilding metal. A large cavity is formed in the front half of the jacket to hold the pure lead core. The core and jacket are fusion-bonded at very high temperature, resulting in a molecular bond between the core and jacket. Final forming produces a long nose with a protected point. All Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets manufactured for use in Federal Premium® rifle ammunition are now available as component bullets for the reloader under the Speer brand.
