The 410 Bore shotgun is in no way, shape or form a “long-distance” firearm – but that certainly doesn’t mean it can’t cover impressive distances. For proof, simply get a few boxes of Remington Express Extra Long Range (XLR) ammunition and head to your favorite hunting grounds.

This is a 2-1/2” shell: just as fit for use in a 410 Bore shotgun as it is in the Judge or Governor. The max dram load throws its 1/2 ounce charge of shot at a muzzle velocity of 1,250 fps. Not the highest MV a shotgun shell will ever achieve, but plenty respectable for the little 410 all the same. The shell also owes its generous reach to its #4 shot pellets (67 total), which are relatively large and capable of taking down game as large as turkey (with proper aim and choke).
