Great affordable hunting ammo. Wouldn't want to use for self defense
The round nose does have issues feeding on occasion (maybe one out of 5 rounds) in both the Norinco SKS and the CZ527. With the SKS just clear the jam and continue shooting. With the CZ527 just pull back ever so slightly on the bolt and it'll chamber no prob. Not ammo I'd use for self defense due to that.... but great affordable hunting ammo for shots up to about 150yds. Around these parts 75 yds is a long shot in the thick hemlock woods. Avg range: under 50yds. The round nose really puts the smack down on deer compared to pointed soft points which I don't think are even expanding much at that range. MOA out of the CZ at 100yds is about 1-1.5". From the SKS MOA opens up to almost 3". Its nice reloadable brass, too. Get FMJ for self defense if that's your main concern and don't worry about jamming (if not for the jamming issues this would be great self defense ammo). For hunting at short to moderate range these are great with out breaking the bank on premium hunting ammunition. You can actually practice with the round you'll use in the field.

Not for my Wasr.
I have a wasr 10 that has never had an issue chambering rounds in all 1000 shots I've done using FMJ. These PPU rounds jam often, become dented arriving to the chamber and cannot find a zero with or consistently hit paper at 100 yds. This is just my experience with a stamped wasr10. Yours may differ.
