Year after year, ProMag has increasingly become one of the leading manufacturers of firearms magazines in the world. Gun enthusiasts and law enforcement personnel have agreed, be it for recreational "plinking", competition shooting, or law enforcement, Promag is the source you can count on.
ProMag magazines are designed utilizing both traditional stamping and welding of heat-treated high carbon steel, and modern precision injection molding of mil-spec polymer compounds. Every ProMag magazine is backed by a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer's defects. This ProMag SKS Drum Magazine is constructed out of DuPont Zytel based polymer and the upper tower has full length steel internal insert stamped and welded like the factory magazine.

When I received it, I noticed it had a little rattle in it. When I started loading it and had about 20 rounds in it , it didn't want to accept any more. What had happened was about 4 or 5 rounds had stood up in the bottom and jammed it up. I took it to a gun Smith and he had to disassemble it to remove the live rounds. I sent it back to the manufacturer and I'm waiting for a replacement.

Buyer Beware
Took a chance buying it, didn't expect much from a plastic drum but reality is - it doesn't fit my SKS. Manufacturer (ProMag) knows this won't fit all "AK Style" firearms without "fitting", found that out on the paperwork inside the box. Looking at two metal magazines bought at a gun show, I can clearly see several serious differences. Pro's: Looks cool. Easy to turn dial, better than a wing nut.Con's: Poor fitting on drum causes the Hold Open Pin to stay depressed. More importantly the Bolt won't fully close, rendering the SKS inoperable. Going to take some finesse to get it operable.

Is it any good??
Answer:
It is if you understand that an SKS must be converted to accept detachable box magazines and that some manual hand fitting is usually required to make the magazines work properly.
Do this fit any sks?
Answer:
This will fit SKS rifles that accept detachable magazines.
