ProMag didn’t make this magazine out of anything adventurous. It’s steel. Good old-fashioned steel, which is heat-treated to provide even greater assurance that it won’t be warped or otherwise deformed during normal operation. The magazine’s surface is finished with black oxide – i.e. blued, which protects the underlying steel from abrasion and corrosion alike, and which has the welcome bonus effect of minimizing steel-on-steel friction while the P226 is ejecting the mag. There’s even a long-lasting heat-treated chrome silicone wire spring in there. Who knows? Your future great-grandkids may one day use this mag!
