ProMag S&W Shield 9mm 8 rd Mag - NOT A GOOD CHOICE
I must say that I am not impressed with the ProMag magazine. First, the slide at the bottom of the magazine for 8 round version (that is NOT SUPPOSED TO SLIDE EASILY) was very loose and slides up when using and reloading the mag. Second, I noticed that the plastic guide at the top inside of the magazine that is supposed to glide up and down actually hangs up and requires a lot more care when loading than the factory S&W mags. Please don’t tell me I need to run 500 rounds through the magazine before it performs well….I suspect a quality control deficiency. It’s a magazine for a firearm, where it’s performance may mean protecting someone or their family. I expect quality control to be much better, and this first experience will make me not purchase anything from ProMag in the future.

Disappointed
I bought 2 and both of them leave one round in the magazine.

It looked fine when it arrived, but it got stuck really bad in the well when I inserted it. I almost couldn't get it out. I had to file down the inside walls of my gun to get it to "Kinda" work. I am disappointed.

Will not buy again
I purchased this magazine and could only get 7 bullets in the magazine. I have not even fired my S&W M&P 9mm yet. When removing the bullets from the magazine, the last bullet was stuck and was hard to get out.

Work fine after using
They need a little breaking in then they work just fine. Edges of steel are a little rough which may account for difficulty loading and unloading initially, but after several uses they ease up a bit. Same with mag insertion and dropping mag. Once broken in seem ok. Cons: Seems harder to load and unload than S&W

Way to tight
I bought this mag because of the great price, big mistake. The magazine is too tight and had to be pulled out of my performance center shield. After checking it with a caliper compared to an S&W magazine, it was over .58mm too wide. Front to back dimension was fine. So basically I had to take it apart and grind both sides till it fit and dropped out easily like it should. It doesn't sound like much but it needed grinding to the point where the numbers showing the rounds can barely be seen. The cheap price is not worth the time and work it took to make it fit. Never again !! Cons: Width is off

Do not buy
Even though its cheap, its not worth it, the round slide, gets stuck so it wont feed! and the last round is almost impossible to get it! my friend has the same mag, he only has the feed error, its easier for him to insert last round. removed the spring to see if there was an issue, but all looked correct. better to spend more and get a working mag! Cons: bullet rest/seat gets jammed all the time.
