My 1940 was a good shoote
My 1940 was a good shooter, but the stock was a little rough. I was intrigued by the 10rd detachable mags, so I got this stock and several mags. It takes fiddling to get this stock to work with a factory trigger, so four stars. It's probably a big tooling expense, but Promag needs to enlarge the trigger guard to the rear so we don't have to dremel out material. Also had to file a bit on the ejector side - a lip despite tooling for the interrupter. Mags work, and it looks COOL!

The stock looks great. It's very comfortable, much more than the Mosin Nagant's original. goes together easily and a Tinney drops right in. That's the good news. The bad news is the pro mag magazines. I have nine of them and all hold the number of rounds stated but not one actually loads all those rounds into the chamber. the five round magazines are the worst only loading three rounds.

I bought two stocks, and
I bought two stocks, and converted two separate rifles. Both dropped right in with no problems. Instructions were easy to understand, and the stock was shipped with all necessary items. It took about 20 minutes per gun to completed, simple. The new stock looks and feels great, cant wait to put some rounds down range.

If you want to give your Mosin a tacticool look, this is the stock to get. Needed a little dremel work around the rear where the tang would fit (and along the side where my PU scope mount is). Very solid and it looks great.

My 91/30 dropped straight
My 91/30 dropped straight in to this stock and the only issue i had was with the screws, the lower screw threads were completely messed up, it wouldn't even thread into my lower mount. Spend some extra money and get a set of stainless screws and make this the perfect sporter rifle.

I've be waiting for the p
I've be waiting for the price of these to come down. Finally found one at a good price. It was very easy to change, no sanding or filing to fit. Ordered 6 extra 10rd mags all feed fine. The only reason I didn't rate at 5 stars is because if you drop a loaded mag you have to push the bullet back in the mag! Also this stock takes a lot of kick out. I ordered on a Saturday afternoon had it by the next Wednesday. (3 business days can't complain). All in all glad I made the purchase, CTD was great for my first time dealing with them. Will definitely order more from CTD.

I purchased this for my M
I purchased this for my Mosin 91/30 and it fit great, no grinding and took me about 30 mins. to install which I attribute 10 just trying to get the old stock apart and going so sitting on the floor with none of the fancy holders/tools to assist. My only complaint is the magazines seem cheap and extremely stiff and difficult to seat, yet it has slowly began to loosen. It looks nice and is extremely comfortable. I do believe it reduce the amount of recoil experienced from the old metal plated wood stock yet it could just be my imagination as I had not shot the old set up in years. CTD was great and fast with shipping and was $25 cheaper than BUDS. thanks, that's a savings of over 100 rounds for this rifle.

This item took about 5 minutes to install. It is a beauty. To cut the notch for a bent bolt I would recommend cutting to the outside dimensions with a fine cut craft saw and use a sharp 1/4' chisel to scrape to the exact depth. If you are good with a chisel you won't need to sand it at all. Minimal mess. I use clear nail polish rather than Locktite to seat the two bolts. If needed to remove use nail polish remover to clean the bolts.
