In a perfect world, every ammunition manufacturer would be at least as good as PMC. That would mean you could always buy ammo with rock solid confidence in its performance.
This 380 ACP round’s technical performance isn’t extraordinary, which is only to say it is loaded to what are probably the most popular specifications the cartridge is known for. The 90 grain bullet is a full metal jacket; nonmagnetic and non-expanding, with a lead core and brass jacket. To say that the round’s 961 fps muzzle velocity and 185 ft lbs muzzle energy are “low” would be to critique the 380 ACP itself – not this ammo, specifically. PMC recorded -4.12” bullet drop 25 yards downrange of a 50-yard zero (interesting to consider, although we doubt many 380 enthusiasts will ever aim so far away).
PMC ammunition is manufactured in South Korea by the same firm which supplies to the nation’s military. Their Boxer primers are noncorrosive. Their brass cases are new, and reloadable. Their bullets possess impressively uniform weights and dimensions, so expect as much accuracy as you’re personally capable.
