I bought this for my mid-
I bought this for my mid-1980s Charter Arms Off Duty (think Mr. Orange's revolver from Reservoir Dogs). My first impression was a little nervous, since the package said it was for the .44 Bulldog, but I put it on my little .38 and it fit like a charm. There was no wiggle, it seated perfectly save for a slight separation just below the trigger guard, an unnoticeable imperfection unless you're looking really hard for it. Overall, it's a chunky little grip, but provided a much better purchase on the gun than the stock wood grips. The second thing I looked for was it's compatibility with a speedloader. The left side grip tapers more than the right I believe specifically for the purpose of accommodating a speedloader. I can get all five rounds about 75% of the way in, which is more than you need, and rounds fall freely from the cylinder.Next, I tested conceal carry. This grip is bigger than the stock grips and gives the gun a big booty so concealment was a concern. I've transitioned to carrying IWB at the 3 o'clock position, and one outdoor cookout and one first date later, nobody knew I was carrying. So the grip does add some girth, but not too much. The last thing I went for was the range test. Took it today, asked my friend to pick a target, and on DA, I bulls-eyed the first shot. Then I followed up with four more rapid shots because the recoil reduction is amazing. I'm not sure if it's the Pachmayr material or the extra grip I get with the pinky, but the gun is infinitely more shootable than it used to be.With this grip, I've secured my 28 year old Charter Arms Off Duty as my primary carry. This grip is a great modern upgrade to a veteran revolver.
