This mount is very afford
This mount is very affordable and looks nice, but it isn't GREAT. It took me about an hour to get this thing onto my rifle because I had to machine my rear sight guard in order to make it fit. it wasn't just snug, I had to drill to get it to fit. Another thing to point out: This thing has nowhere near the elevation I was expecting it to have like in the picture. I also tightened the stuffing out of it, and after 10 shots, it loosened up.

UTG nailed it, rock solid
UTG nailed it, rock solid mount, had to file a little off the rail mount to get it to sit low enough for the front holes to line up, and de-bur the holes to get the Allen head screws in, no big deal I'm completely satisfied with the snug sturdy fit. Also installed the Scope, Put the Laser bore sight in and when I looked thru the Scope it was only a hair away from the crosshairs, the rail was dead on with the barrel.

I was able to mount it on
I was able to mount it on the rifle in less than 20 minutes, including a full size scope. I took it to the range and after 40 rounds it was still tight. Very good product. The side rails will allow me to mount a green laser light for night time hog hunting.

Despite the previous reviews, this tri rail is a good, solid piece, and when put together CORRECTLY, it will not move. Only gave it 4 bullets because I haven't gone to the range yet to see if it holds zero.

Received the order in excellent time, as usual for CTD. Unfortunately, the mount kit was missing the long spacer required for my 1942 91/30. Otherwise, it installed easily enough (not stable without the spacer), and I'm looking forward to completing the installation and trying it out with a scope.

Overall, this is a good mount. People who don't read the reviews however, may not be as satisfied. I ordered this completely expecting to have to do work on it, and when it turned it out I only needed a few shims, it tickled my pickle (so to speak). This does fit well with an M44 folding bayonet, if you're wondering.

Put this mount on my Mosi
Put this mount on my Mosin in about 15 min and added a 2-7 power pistol scope. Total install time was about 30 min. Just got back from the range and I have to say I'm impressed. Seemed to be rock solid. My only complaint is that, due to the mount height above the barrel, you really have to bring the line of sight down when dialing in the scope. At 50 yards, I had to adjust for about two feet (bore sighted it the old fashioned way). Took about 30 min. and 15 or so rounds to get it zeroed at 100yds, but it seemed to hold after that.

This seemed like a great
This seemed like a great idea at first because I wouldn't have to gunsmith my circa 1939 Mosin - the scope mount just replaces the rear sight. It works as advertised, but only if you're using a scouting scope. Regular rifle scopes won't mount far enough back to come close to the eye relief.

Just recently recieved this mount which I promptly installed on my 91/30. It went on easily with no modification required. This surprised me after having read the many reviews that reported having problems with the fit. I fully expected to have to spend at least an hour mounting it but it went on in about 10 min. and is rock solid. Now all I have to do is get it out to the range to get it sighted in. I am very impressed.

It does what I bought it
It does what I bought it for. I had a gunsmith install on my 1940 Mosin Nagant, only reason I had them install it is I had to have them fix a problem with the feed ramp. So it was 20 bucks extra to have him do it. I waited to fire the rifle before my review and it hasnuFFFDt moved at all. I fired 40-50 rounds and it works great.

I received this mount a l
I received this mount a little while back. The problem I'm having is this. In order to put a rifle scope and not a pistol scope on this gun you have to do two things: First, get a bent bolt. Not a problem. I actually found a bolt made that way for this gun. The second is mount the scope as far back as you can on the rail. I accomplished this by buying a long scope and using three scope rings on the front half. The problem now is that the cantilevered part of the mount acts like a spring board and the whole thing moves up and down. I plan to remedy this by unseating the scope and drilling and taping a hole over the receiver. I will then put in a set screw and lock it in place with a nut under the mount so as to act as a leg. I was hesitant to buy this because all the reviews saying that it was hard to line up the holes. I did have the same problem but I had to take out so little metal that I didn't even use my Dremel. I just worked one of the file bits though the holes by hand. I'm sure if you don't mind a pistol scope then this will be perfect for you. The scope does sit high. I'm going to have to raise the comb on my gun just so I can get a cheek weld on the stock.

This was a pain. Got it for a 91/30, is fine and works. You just need a scope with a long eye relief, but not too long, I made that mistake also. Should have just drilled and tapped the receiver.

I read the reviews for this product and saw that some people had trouble installing it on their rifles. I have a 91/30 (1929 Tula Factory) I used a punch and a small brass hammer to knock out the pin holding the rear leaf sight, and then pulled out the spring. Easy installation required a little tapping with the hammer to get everything flush, so the screws would align. Once that was done it was a cinch! I gave it 5 bullets because I was so relieved that I didn't need to ask my dad to use his tools or vice or anything! It's solid as a rock. I just installed a 10-20 inch eye relief pistol scope and it looks awesome. I'll take it to the range soon and zero the scope. I'm very impressed.

This mount is great, it comes with 4 UTG rail covers, and honestly looks good on my M38, however you will need a very long eye relief scope. For ease of use, possibly a bent bolt, but the straight bolt will work fine you just have to be cautious of the scope.

First of all, have to say
First of all, have to say Cheaper Than Dirt gave me the best price on the market that I could find on this product. Thank you, CTD! Product is high quality and installs within minutes. Makes my scope look great on my Mosin Nagant. Top Notch. Will buy their products and buy from CTD in the future!

I had previously bought one of the cheap rail mounts before. I bent it trying to fit it to my Mosin. This one comes with interlocking steel pieces that fit tight together. I did have some play in the rear of the sight. I shimmed it with a thin piece of copper and secured it with the Allen screw. With that and Loc-tite, I do not see it moving any time soon.

A few good things about t
A few good things about this mount are: It's very good quality. If mounted properly...it will NOT move. You don't risk destroying your rifle. A few things to consider before buying: You might end up having to do some minor tweaks to get it to fit right. This rifle was obviously mass produced, so not every rifle will be 100% identical. I personally had to file down a few parts on the mount, and widen a hole on the rear sight to make the provided screw fit. Very easy, no big deal. You will either need a bent bolt or a long eye relief scope to get the most out of this mount.

WOW..... Need I say more.
WOW..... Need I say more... this is the worst thing I have ever wasted my money on.... Like most of you, I wanted to mount a scope on my 91/30 for cheap, but cheap is what I got... First of ALL, the rail looks great... thats about it... I tried to put it on my rifle and it didnt fit, none the the parts fit in the right place. So instead of trying to send it back which i should have done, I forced it on with clamps and stuff. I finally got the screws in got the scope on and went out to shoot it... IT MOVES!!!! every shot is different and after about 10th shot, the dang thing broke....DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I had a problem with some
I had a problem with some screws lining up but it wasn't a big deal because it stays on and all i did to fix the elevation screws so the mount would end wobble is fit an old small thin allen wrench in it. once i zeroed my scope it works great. on the side note tighten down your scope rings a lot because it will move because of the Mosins nagants recoil.

I read the reviews before
I read the reviews before I bought my tri-rail. The screw holes not matching was a concern. When I recieved it I could see what people were talking about. However if I enlarged the holes for more space that would mean I couldn't use the stock sights again without replacing the sight block. So instead I took my drimmel and used a round sanding block to barely take some off of the new block that butts up against the sight block. Doing just a little each time to not take any more off than necessary. When the fit was good I used some 'formula 44/40' instant gun blue to touch up where I had sanded. Mount block then fit very good and everything on the rifle is still the same. Old sights will go right back on. I highly recommend the Leapers tri-rail scope mount.

Like most of the reviews
Like most of the reviews i had some trouble with the pin hole and not fitting well. I gave it 4 bullets because its looks great once on and sturdy fit but my 3' eye relief scope is not going to work. 6' or more is definitely needed. Decided to put my red dot on till i can get a 6' eye relief scope.

this unit is nice but poor mounting quality. It doesnt fit just right and a lot of tention on the screws can easily strip them or cross tread them.It seems soild have not shot with it yet.

wanted a scope with a zoo
wanted a scope with a zoom bigger than 3-7x that was still 'long eye relief' ...i bought Bushnell Banner 3-9x40, 6' EyeRelief and it works with this mount!!! scope was about $70. It didnt fit EXACTLY on so i just had to spend a few minutes expanding the existing rear-sight pin hole on the rifle (the pin that retains the rear sight onto the gun) so that the tri rail screws would fit.... only took a few minutes. scope is awesome.

Like some other folks, my install was not the easiest. the assembly included a heavy amount of dremill tool grinding to get the mount to sit low enough that the retaining screws woould line up to their holes. looks pretty cool when installed, but it sits kind of high. overall not too bad considering the cost. you may be better off with the 70 dollar scout mount, looks like it sits a little lower.

I am pleased with the pro
I am pleased with the product. It works at advertised...however. It took two and a half hours of careful dremmeling and fitting to get the mount to fit properly. It is rock solid, and for the price, it's worth the money. If patience is not one of your virtues, you may want to re-think buying this product. I don't mind spending a little time if it means getting a rock solid fit. I fired forty rounds out of my M-44 Mosin nagant yesterday, and can recommend this mount for being solid. I used an extended eye relief scope ( pistol), and would highly recommend this to anyone planning on purchasing this product.

This thing rocks!!! I have the 1942 non-sniper rifle version (no turned bolt handle). So I wanted to mount a scope on my rile to use for deer hunting (I know, I know use a 308), but for a cheap power house rifle, this kit ROCKS!!! Brings an old war rile up to modern specs. And lets face it, this gun may be classic, but people have made shots over a mile with it.I had NO issues with installation, for those that say you have to use a Drill, DON'T just use the existing Pin and hammer, to lightly tap in one side, then use the screws on the other side. This will allow you to get one side in, and then pull the pin on the other, use the screw with the kit and your done. Thanks UTG!!!

The ups: Once you get it
The ups: Once you get it mounted, the mount is rock solid, and great if you have a long eye relief scope, about 8.5 to 10 inches is good. The downs: It took quite a while grinding away at the lower two mounting parts with my Dremel before they would go into place and I could put in the mounting screws. I dropped one star for the extra work needed to attach the scope mount.

IF YOU WANT TO USE A NORM
IF YOU WANT TO USE A NORMAL EYE RELIEF SCOPE DO NOT BUY THIS MOUNT. I'm building a custom 91/30 sporter. I got this mount in the mail and it is of incredible quality. It is very well made out of billet aluminum with a nice anodized finish on it. It IS NOT, however, what UTG advertises it as. This mount _WILL NOT_ allow you to use a normal scope. True, it places the scope back further than any other mount that bolts to the rear sight. But it is still not back far enough to rest your head on the cheek rest of the stock. With this mount your head will be hovering uncomfortably over the grip, thrusting your neck forward and twisting trying to get a sight picture. The only mount that will allow you to use a normal scope is one like the ATI mount that mounts far back on the receiver. You are going to have to drill and tap your receiver. Get over it or buy a modern rifle. I just wasted almost $30. I hope that I am preventing some one else from doing the same.

This is a very nice product. I had only to do a little fileingon the front of the Rectangular base so that the M3 side screws would line up......Easy with no permanent modifications to my rifle. Clear cut directions were included and very helpful. Time to look on-line for a scope with unlimited eye-relief....Thanks, CTD.

i ordered this product because i wanted to use it in conjunction with my new monte carlo stock i had purchased for my 91/30.the pros.the product itself is verry well made and is of high quality. it is very sturdy and apears to be quite capable of standing up to the recoil shock of the gun. it came with a full set of detailed instructions. and overal was prety self explanitory. and the price is very much a great deal when ordered from CTD.the cons.altho the top rail dose alow you to mount a scope closer to your eye it stil isnt quite enough with most scopes, this limits your choices when selecting a scope. the bracket that holds the base plate to the rear sight would not line up on my gun, the two set screws on the front of the base were out of alignment with the set pin holes in my rear sight. this may have been a defect in my gun and i do not know weather or not this product was to blame. still it is something to be aware of. i ended up having to modify the holes by drilling them to a larger diamiter to get the set screws to line up.now that the rail is installed iu couldent be happier with it. its a wonderful addition to my old 91/30. i had hoped the instal wouldent have been such a pain and i wouldent have to permanently alter my gun but as i said, my gun may have been to blame for that.thank you cheaper than dirt for another great deal.

I like this product.....after i winged the install..... There were no instructions but all in all worked out great. I had to modify the bolt for the scope i was using. Its not as hard as people assume. If I could do it in my garage with no gunsmithing or machining experence, then you can too. All you need is a wheel cutter and a weilder... minor tack welding ... and if you wanna go farther a dremel type tool for cleanup... took about an hour with the cleanup... Just tap the bolt over GENTLY with the hammer untill at the desired angle.

will this work on the T53 m44?
Answer:
It should minor fitting may be required.
Which scope do you recommend using with this set up on the Mosin Thanks
Answer:
That would be dependent on a number of factors, such as intended end use. Invariably a magnified optic is almost always a fun, and effective choice for bolt action rifles no matter the intended use. The Leupold VX-Freedom EFR 3-9x33 Riflescope, item # 104170, is an excellent cost effective option.
Does this still allow the use of stripper clips
Answer:
Yes it does.
Will this mount work with a Monte Carlo Mosin Nagant stock?
Answer:
Yes it will.
Will this work with archangel stock?
Answer:
Probably not.
Will this mount work for a sporterized mosin nagant ?
Answer:
Yes, it will.
Does the mount work with the standard non-curved infantry bolt? The bolt on my 1943 91/30 is not curved.
Answer:
Yes.
It stated that it won't fit the earlier models of the 91's and I have a Mosin Nagant 91/30 how do I know if this will fit the one I have?
Answer:
The UTG Mosin Nagant Tactical Tri-rail Mount is not compatible with some variants with either smaller or proprietary rear sight bases, e.g. Westinghouse, Remington and Polish Mosin Nagant M44 .
