While NATO currently issues 40mm gas mask filters for a variety of masks, reasonably priced 60mm filters can be difficult to find. These new, unissued military 60mm thread adapters easily solve that problem by allowing the use the more common 40mm gas mask filter instead. Simply thread the adapter into your 60mm mask, then screw your 40mm filter into the adapter. The adapter adds almost no additional weight or size to the mask and the adapter’s rubber gasket ensures an airtight seal with the filter. Since the adapter can be easily removed and reinstalled as the need arises, there’s no reason to not have one on hand.
