Mesa Tactical Saddle Rails are aluminum brackets that wrap around the top of the shotgun receiver, with a Picatinny optics rail at the top. Our traditional saddle rails extended all the way past the forend and secured up front to a Magazine Clamp. The factory trigger pins are replaced by an internally threaded steel pin (in the rear) and paired Chicago screws (up front), to which both sides of the saddle rail are securely bolted.

SureShell Saddle Rails feature a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny sight rail along the top, and a eight-shot SureShell shotshell carrier yoke on the left side of the receiver. The rail is notched at the rear to accommodate Scattergun/Wilson style ghost ring sights and extends just beyond the barrel's magazine lug. No gunsmithing is required to install the SureShell Saddle Rail

To use a six shot SureShell carrier mounted on the left side of the Remington 870 shotgun, you must use a tactical forend that does not overlap the receiver, or a factory forend that is cut down appropriately. SureFire forends are fully compatible with our six-shot SureShell carriers but will need about .5 inch shaved off the end to be installed with our eight-shot SureShell carriers.
