I obtained a 1943 M1. Although the accuracy was as good as I could shoot(I am 65, with declining eye sight), I tried Butch's in the bore two weeks after a good cleaning with Hoppes (I had to wait for delivery). I ran a couple of saturated patches through and let her sit awhile. Then took a nylon brush through the bore 10 times. Let it sit for another 15 minutes. Geez! The volume of carbon and copper that was removed from the preceding patches was remarkable. Will do again.
