The Lion Gears’ Picatinny Cantilever Mount incorporates a 1 inch riser with 7.75 inches of overhang. As a result this is a great choice for mounting longer scopes on an AR-15. Additionally, Lion Gears employs steel bolts and nuts to make this 30 slot, 12 inch long cantilever mount a strong and versatile mounting solution.

Originally, I was searching for something similar to this mount. I wanted this length of rail but only w/ 1/2' to 3/4' height. However, once installed backwards on top of my L1A1 it works great extending my 'holo' back over the receiver group. The plus to this is that I can see under the rail to use the original iron sights. Thanks for the product.

I am VERY impressed with this mount. The cantilever portion is very beefy and shows great resistance to movement if any force is applied to the tip, since that was the first thing I did after mounting, to ensure it's stability. A huge plus is the steel mounting hardware. I have stripped out many aluminum rails and scopes over the years, I love to over-torque screws. This mounting hardware seems very resistant, if not immune, to my ham-handed gunsmithing style.
