Lightfield is the premier manufacturer of shotgun ammunition. While perfecting the sabot slug in the 1970's for the US Marine Corps, they 'set the standard by which all other slugs are judged'. Innovative designs and cutting edge engineering with both lethal and 'less than lethal' shotgun rounds is what Lightfield is all about. Whether you need ammunition for Hunting, Law Enforcement, Pest Control or Home Defense, Lightfield has a round for you.

HV Star is an improvement over the traditional Rubber Buckshot round for large or aggressive wildlife. Lightfield has improved this load to carry a large payload consisting of a high velocity star with 850 fps to stop even the most determined large unfriendly critters in their tracks. This load is designed for intermediate to mid range encounters with larger animals such as Bear, Moose, Elk or Deer. This HV Star imparts kinetic energy on a single point of impact imparting painful stimuli in a highly focused area with minimal risk of permanent injury.

Can this be safely used to control dogs?
Answer: Most real uses for this ammo is on bears, not so much because it will stop an attack but to make them afraid of humans. Im sure dogs would react the same way. One thing to keep in mind these are considered less lethal and not non lethal so you could still severely injure or kill a dog using these rounds.
What choke should be used in a smooth bore shotgun for this ammo?
Answer: I do not think it really matters, I would use Cylinder Bore, but anything less than full should be fine.
is this a slug ?
Answer: No. It's a less lethal high velocity rubber star typically used for wildlife control. Per the written description: 1.25" Diameter Flexible Star
Can this be fired through a rifled barrel?

Can this type of ammo be used in a 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun?
