As with most 1911 parts some hand fitting may be required. Fitting by a Gunsmith or 1911 Certified Armorer is required.

No it will not. This is a commander sized threaded barrel. It will not work with a full sized/GI profile slide.

Will this fit in a full size magnum research 1911G? The stock barrel is 5". I'm not sure if the thread will be in the slide or outside. Probably obvious but had to ask

Yes this should fit. The threading will be outside of the slide and you just remove the thread protector to field strip or reassemble.
