The AR-12 is an innovative, true drop in upper receiver for DPMS style AR-10 lower receivers. This extraordinary system provides users with the ability to change their lower receiver from a rifle, to a shotgun, and back again in mere seconds. The free floating barrel and piston driven operating system maintains the accuracy and reliability that AR-10 rifles are famous for.

The AR-12 is only compatible with RAS-12 ammunition. Feeding from SR-25/DPMS magazines with proprietary followers, the RAS-12 polymer cased ammunition has all of the functionality of the legacy 12 gauge shotshell, with additional payload capabilities. The AR-12 upper only fires the RAS-12 ammunition.
