Igman didn’t venture off the beaten path when they loaded this ammunition. They couldn’t, or else the ammo would no longer would have shared the same specifications as NATO’s standard-issue 7.62 cartridge.

True to M80 fashion, this cartridge’s (new, reloadable) brass case is fitted with a 147 grain full metal jacket. It is a fine bullet for any firearm and any program of target shooting, and made without ferromagnetic metals that would have caused it to attract a magnet. This round *can’t* attract a magnet, period.

One hundred forty-seven grains isn’t the heaviest weight the 7.62 can throw, but it’s still sufficiently massive to remain supersonic out to 1,000 yards, max. The bullet offers no terminal expansion, although varmints still won’t enjoy getting hit by it.
