This RNFP’s gas check is a sort of gasket that sits at its base. It prevents propellant gasses from escaping around the sides of the bullet during ignition, forcing them to push the bullet instead. It’s all in service of sending the bullet flying at a higher velocity, which increases striking energy and extends penetration depth as a result.
