It’s hard to find *any* .475 Linebaugh hunting ammunition – let alone a good one, such as what HSM has loaded for you right here. Enlist this ammo on any medium game excursion. The only ones who will regret it are the medium game!
This cartridge is loaded with a Speer Uni-Cor jacketed flat point (also identified as a Uni-Cor soft point, or “USP”). Speer constructs the bullet by submerging an alloyed lead core in a bath of electrified chemicals until the former possesses a jacket that is every bit as tough as it is concentric. The bonded JFP is rugged enough to plow through a game animal’s thick defenses, and applies its unjacketed tip toward broad expansion. Think of it as something akin to a giant Gold Dot soft point, and you get the picture!
From its humble beginnings as “The Hunting Shack” in 1968 to its current headquarters within a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Montana, HSM has remained a family-owned business. Part of that business includes loading premium brass cases. The ammunition we photographed has Starline headstamps, although we cannot guarantee the manufacturer of the brass cases the ammo you receive will be loaded with.
