Looking for *serious* 6.5 PRC varmint hunting ammo? Then you can’t go wrong with the same manufacturer that invented the cartridge!

Hornady V-Match is impressive firepower if you’re gunning for coyote or smaller game, and an equally great pick if you’re only shooting for precision’s sake. It’s all about that 100 grain ELD-VT, which, like all ELD series bullets, features the Heat Shield tip. The special polymer tip withstands intense aerodynamic heating, thus preserving its flat meplat which is designed to simultaneously increase drag uniformity and decrease dispersion. That and its AMP jacket enables the ELD-VT to shoot flat and conserve superior downrange velocity (.448 G1 BC, 24” test barrel).

The ELD-VT isn’t just surgically precise. It is also devastating on small game, as its large tip easily smashes open its thin jacket en route to its lead core. On contact, the tip causes the entire projectile to shatter apart. Its shallow penetration makes the ELD-VT suboptimal for deer, but its instantaneous expansion is *exactly* what you want for hunting smaller critters.
