Hornady Superformance ammunition transcends convention and achieves the highest performance of any ammunitinon on the market today with cutting edge technological advancement in ammunition design. By using ultra progressive propellants, your favorite SST or GMX bullets achieve levels of performance that are simply unattainable with conventional propellants. In the past, shooters have used a brute force approach of using large charge weights of a slow burning powder in a larger cartridge case which ultimately this leads to more recoil and muzzle blast.

The Superformance solution is an elegant approach that utilizes specialized powders at NORMAL charge weights. This in turn imparts ALL useable energy to the bullet reducing the rocket nozzle effect at the muzzle while still increasing velocity! Superformance ammunition is 100 to 200 fps FASTER than any conventional ammunition on the market today, and achieves this performance in EVERY gun, WITHOUT increases in felt recoil, muzzle blast, temperature sensitivity, fouling or loss of accuracy. Superformance is safe to use in ALL firearms, including semi-autos, lever gun and pump actions. Hornady Superformance increases rifle performance with no increases in barrel wear and felt recoil along with superior temperature stability.

Two down in 10 minutes.... No lead in my food!
I normally hunt with my 7mm-08 with superformance GMX ammo and love it. A friend came with me to hunt but her rifle was a .270 and I suspected it hadn't been sighted in a long time so I let her use my much nicer rifle and took hers and used this ammo. I didn't really plan on killing and put her on the best stand and I sat far away in a bad area. Wouldn't you know it, 5 does come out chased by an 8 point that I'd been after all season. I took a very steep angling away shot on him and it entered in the liver on the left side and exited right shoulder the size of a golf ball. Dead run for 20 yards but I expect that with a round that doesn't explode like corelockts. As I'm texting her to tell her we got one, a nice doe with no fawn came right into the same spot and gave me a perfect neck shot so BAM. Meat in the freezer. The strong GMX bullet went into the neck and blew apart 3 vertebrate and exited with another golf ball size exit wound. Long story short, this type of bullet needs speed and a .270 with the superformance powder does the trick very well. I actually wished my x-bolt was in .270 instead of 7mm for this round because of the added speed but I am still batting 100 so no worries there. Pros: Boom Cons: Not sure why it is so expensive on this site

It shot reasonably well o
It shot reasonably well out of my Remington 7600; about 1 inch groups at 100 yards with occasional fliers out to 2 inches. Not the best ammo I have shot, but certainly the best lead free I can find!

In years' past, I've ofte
In years' past, I've often used the Remmington loads...good ammo, no complaints, but this past season after reading about the accuracy of the Hornady ammo, I purchased some just before deer season. The accuracy of this load simply cannot be overstated...it was a rainy morning about 6:30am when a buck showed himself about 100 yrds from my stand. Whil this is considered by many to be a 'gimme' with a rifle, due to the bad weather, I was concerned about loosing his bloodtrail, so I wanted to put him down quick w/ a neck shot...and brother...put him down it did. That 6-pnt buck dropped where it stood, and never had a chance on getting up. The intense power from this round is unbeliveable, and while I want to state that Remmington is still very good, there is simply no comparrison to the Hornady ammo...you'll pay a few bucks more, but the piece of mind is worth it...I hope I never have to comprise and shoot anything else. A+++ product!
