Can’t decide between buckshot or a slug? So long as you’re deciding for a 410 Bore revolver or shotgun, you don’t have to. Hornady’s Critical Defense series ammo is loaded with both!

This shell’s shot column contains two different types of projectiles. At the top of the column rests the FTX. It’s a smooth-sided lead slug, with a hollow point nose cavity that is filled by a flexible “Flex Tip” polymer plug. The plug keeps the hollow from filling with fabric debris, which in turn promotes more reliable terminal expansion.

At the base of the shot column are two lead balls: .35 caliber, and therefore too large to be 00 buck and too small to be 000. Unlike the FTX, which is designed for expansion, these large shot pellets are designed NOT to deform at all. That helps the swaged and high-antimony lead balls keep pushing inward, therefore increasing their likelihood of penetrating to an effective depth to neutralize a threat.

This is not a long-distance shell. Its three projectiles aren’t designed to hit a man-sized target if it’s positioned farther than 7 yards away.

Suitable for S&W Governor & Taurus Judge revolvers
