Hornady’s BLACK series ammunition ain’t picky. It likes being inside bolt guns. It likes being inside semi-automatic guns. It likes being inside pistols, carbines and rifles alike. And if you like accuracy, then you’ll love it when this .308 Win 155 grain ELD Match ammunition is inside *your* gun.
This round’s bullet is a machine, in which every gear turns in service of precision. Its most colorful feature is its Heat Shield, which is molded from specially formulated heat-resistant polymer that conserves its aerodynamically efficient Drag Variation Reduction Technology flat meplat – reliably, and regardless of how roughly air friction mistreats it.
Any part of the ELD Match that isn’t made of polymer can only be one of two things: Hornady’s uber-concentric AMP jacket, or a flawless swaged lead core. The ELD Match’s sleek tip also gives way to a secant ogive profile, which narrows off to a drag-minimizing boat tail.
Hornady’s Doppler radar testing reveals the 155gr ELD-M’s G1 BC to be .435. That’s why it can *easily* remain supersonic until 1,050 yards (provided it is fired from a 24” barrel, i.e. the same length as Hornady’s test barrel).

Nice Round
Like this and ELD but this is faster 2850 vs 2700, so fewer scope clicks

I am buying this product again now as I write this review.
Stunningly accurate and consistent groupings fired from a DPMS Panther .308 with custom trigger and scope. Deer and Coyote takedowns at 320, 200, and 60 yards with all impacts within 1 to 2 inches of aim point fired from tree stands with either a fore grip rest or elbow rest. Pros: Extreme accuracy and takedown Cons: None

Can you hunt deer with this round
Answer:
Hi Joseph! The A-MAX isn't built for that purpose. It's not designed for terminal expansion, and its thinner AMP jacket isn't conducive to deep penetration. As such, the A-MAX's really better suited for target shooting. Here's another Hornady load with a bullet that *is* meant for deer hunting: https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/hornady-custom-.308-win-ammunition-150-grain-sst-20-rounds/fc-090255380934.html
